Idaho-Maryland Project, California
In 2005, Emgold began advancing the Idaho-Maryland Project through the permitting process under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). As announced on October 26, 2011, September 7, 2012, and February 1, 2013 by press release permitting activities with the City of Grass Valley were placed on hold by the Company pending improved market conditions and financing activity. Due to the delay, the Company's permit applications were "deemed withdrawn" by the City on September 10, 2012 and will need to be submitted if and when the Company moves forward with the Project.
On February 1, 2013, the Company announced by press release that a Lease and Option to Purchase Agreement for certain surface properties and mineral rights associated with the Project had expired. While the Company has been in discussions to extend the existing agreement or complete a new agreement, no such an agreement has been reached to date. As stated in the February 1, 2013 press release, "If negotiations to extend the BET Agreement are unsuccessful, Emgold will terminate the Project to focus on the other assets the Company currently has in its portfolio." As such, the company has elected to remove the Idaho-Maryland Project from its website at the current time. Note that the Company owns two surface properties and certain mineral rights associated with the Project in Grass Valley.
